Slight Redish/Brown on Stem

So before I went to sleep, I did my daily check on my plant. I have it incased in aluminum foil, and theres only one florecent bulb. Im not sure if this is right, but is it suppose to give off odor?

I am pretty sure it is, the only thing that would make me question that is this browning at the center of the stem where the blades of the leaves meet up. It looks like its a burn, but hard to tell, because its my 1st grow. There is also slight redish/brown on the stem where the shoots meet up.

I transplanted the plant about a couple weeks ago, so maybe its just part of the recovery.
