EDIT: Oh wow, I think that was subconcious... I didn't pick banana or purple grapes because it was my name, I just thought of the words- their colors correspond with yellow and purple:
new- That's a yellow word
25- Blue/red- makes purple
1337- Yellow
lol- Red
48-Red/blue
speakers- Blue (and the red above on lol makes it a purple by default)

Yeah. I was thinking more of a turquoise banana, at the time.
I had grapefruit pop into my head almost immediately.. I don't even really like grapefruit but it popped in threr and was wa pretty strong thought so I went with that
