Double Ended HQI MH?

Anyone tried any DE HQI MH bulbs out? In the marine aquarium industry they are preferred over standard MH because they put out a lot more light. In addition they put out enough UV to require UV blocking glass be used with the bulbs.

I figure these would be perfect for MJ grows.

Any experience?

The Reef Optix III is a really high-end reflector/hood. I think it would be awesome for MJ.

It seems that horticultural lighting is way behind marine lighting. I wonder why, as lighting a reef is a much more niche market than general horticulture.

Here is a comparison of a 400w HQI lamp to some that a lot of people here may be familiar with. It's the first 400w HQI I've seen.
