I have been misting my plants daily. My humidity is between 40-50%. Is misting always a good idea? Is there a point where you should stop? (perhaps to avoid mouldy buds?) Thank you.

Exactly! Stop when you get bud mass to avoid mold.
Misting isn't always the greatest thing anyway- in some situations, you can leach nutrients out of the leaves, or allow water to sit on them in the dark, causing rot, or leave droplets on them in bright light, causing tiny burns.
Personally, I never mist my plants. Even clones, I mist the inside of the DOME, and rarely mist the clones themselves.
The exception is foliar feeding, which I do with a weak solution of either GH Micro or Algoflash, to solve observed deficiencies.
I wouldn't mist during flowering and it isn't necessary during vegging either. It's usually just to keep the humidity up during cloning.
BUT it also does help misting underneath the leaves wich helps prevent those dreaded
SPIDER MITES! But never mist when u have buds forming ur just asking for rot
