I say, if you already have the fans to go with the vented hoods, try the 1000. However, remember there IS a point of having too much light. Try it and see what happens.?.
Your're gonna need more height. MJ grows up. A nice plant is 3-5 feet tall. Heat is your main problem in a space that small. You will need A/C or wait until winter using fans. A 600 will have to be at least 15 inches from the top of the plants, maybe more. 1000 maybe 20 inches or more. This is the ZONE you have to keep at 75-85 degrees.
I grew 13 female plants under a 400HPS in the same size closet, except for the height thingy. But I rotated 6/7 every 12 hours. They were 5 1/2 feet tall at harvest....enjoy....:pimp:
IMHO, the 600 should rock just right....however, it's going to be a hot mofo in there!!
One of the best changes I made to my wee boxes was to cut out the bottom and sink my buckets/tubs/pots thru the floor, and I could handle some more temps, and I had more bud room also.
Good luck!!
Supposedly the 600w is the most efficient as far as lumens per watt goes.
I run about 100 watts per square foot myself. Yet, I'd say that the 600 is the appropriate answer. You'd be running about 60 watts per square foot.
I'd use the 600.
1000 watts for 2 plants? :wtf:
Get a dual 600W ballast and another bulb.
ok well my closet is 6x2x6 and im using a 600 watt. i know for sure with a clearance that small a 1000 would be hard but thats my noob opioin. to give u an idea of the heat my closet is 90 with an air cooled reflector. i had to buy a $300 AC unit to keep the temps down. so be prepared for the heat. test them out and record the temp.
more lumens/watt for a 600.plain and simple.i use mostly 600's for flower.sadly i must admit to larger denser buds beneath my 1000's tho...hmmmm perplexing.contemplating.....yeah 600=less heat and more lumens/watt.thats my humble vote.
