Two Sprouts from one seed
This is the first time ive encountered this but it loooks as though 2 sprouts with two seperate stems are coming out of the same root. has anyone ever had this happen before? does anyone know if one might be female and one male or will they both be the same sex? im sure i only planted one seed in the pot but puzzled why it looks as though an entirely new seedling is coming out lower from the main one near the exact same root base.

Hi romdog11
I read a similar thread on this subject recently but can't seem to find it (damn that short term memory loss), however if I remember correctly, it is to do with two embryos growing in the same seed shell and fusing together. The prognosis isn't great for both to survive though, and I think some of the more experienced growers recommend 'nipping' the weaker looking one.
I'll try and find a link to the thread if nobody else chips in with wiser words. :)

TWINS!
I've seen this a couple times.
Twice, they were identical- both females. From Akita and NL seed packs.
Once, they both grew but as I recall that was back when I had to bail out and I never found the sex. It was aw hile ago though.
Grow them out if you are curious, just remember twice the pot, twice the water.

one may die, or you will just have ALOT of roots
Two Sprouts from one seed
I got one in some G13 x Hashplant x AK47 and they were m/f. First time I ever got 110% germ rate......lol

The science is basically the same as human twins - nothing extra special (way oversimplified I know, but in lamens terms close enough). If both can grow though (not common) and you get females, then cheers! You might try using one apical meristem as a clone once they are old enough to reduce the stress of having them in a single pot. Just a thought, no clue how it would turn out.

Hey there, I don't post here much (though I respectfully thank everyone for teaching me how to grow)...
Here might be the link some of you were thinking about.

I'm pretty sure my twin was a male that was pulled...I'll know for sure when we harvest soon...flowering plants are off site from my veg grow space...
