I have 4 plants that are 39 days into flowering, they were bagseed so I didn't really know what to expect, and this is my first grow, so I have only a slight clue.
I was wanting to know if I can clone from these flowering plants, and if so, where is the best spot?
heres a pic, they are all nice and healthy, getting supernatural's bloom terra and also molassas with their water.

I took clones in about week 3 and it worked fine, however....
Because yours are so far in you would do best to take clones from the lower/least developed branches.

yep, I took some clones over the weekend (5 total), but have one question about the DIY clone setups. If its such a big deal to have air in the cut stem, then why would I want 2-3 airstones in my tub with the clones?? wouldn't that just cause lots of air in the stems?
I don't know the answer to that, I do see your point though. Maybe someone with more experience will help you.
I've read some of the cloning instructions that say don't expose the stem to air and, quite frankly, that seems like some kind of voodoo nonsense.Quote:

The purpose of the airstones is to form tiny bubbles that rise up and keep you plant stem moist so that it will grow roots. The stems aren't supposed to be imersed in the solution... unless you have some strange kind of cloner.

This is the key to answering the question. You don't put the new cuttings in solution. To keep them moist they can be put in a propogation dome which is then misted, or you can have them suspended over a hydro setup without them being imersed in it. In the latter case, the air stones cause enough hydrodynamic turbulence to keep tiny droplets of moisture (mist) around the base of the cuttings without keeping them actually in the growing medium. This allows propper ventilation for root growth while preventing significant loss of turgidity (water pressure in the plants).Quote:

When I take clones I just stikk'em in a cup of water so they may root. When the little one have grown a nice bushy rootsystem I plant them in soil. Works everytime,and really,you can take clones from any plant in the world this way. It's no hockus pockus.
Hello m8s! I have a quick question because I have two clones and I want to take clones soon, could somebody tell me the most effective method of cloning without rooting gel? Thanks, any answers will be appreciated.

no worries, I'm in it to learn the best way to make cloning happen for me & others, there are plenty of other threads to read with lunacy going on.... I moved my clones into ind. cups this morning, there was a bit of growth, so we'll see.
How many people scrape the stems, and how well does this work?
