what will happen if you try to play a regular guitar in a bass amp? Would it be okay or would it sound like crap?
thanks in advance for any help i get.
Depends on what amp it is...if it's just a regular solid state amp it will have a chunky bassy sound. Wont have any sparkle or spunk to it. However, one of the most famous guitar amps ever was originally a bass amp..and of course I refer to the legendary Fender Bassman. But thats a good amp because it has vaccuum tube circuitry. Im done rambling. Hope this helps.
this reminds me of the 1 time i went into guitar center stoned to look at amps
i sart testing out a couple but they seemed way off then a guy working there asked me if everything was all right i said ya but theres sumthen wrong with these amps,he then told me that they were bass amps and the guitar amps were right around the corner...wow i felt stupid
I heard that the higher frequencies can mess up a bass amp. It's ok to play bass on a regular amp though.
I dont think it hurts the amp but a bass on a guitar amp can blow it out a speaker. It doesnt sound to good with guitar on a bass amp though
Hey man. I am a semi professional musician and I can tell you that playing a guitar through a bass amp will not hurt anything. It will sound kinda crappy but you can even run your fx though it if ya want. I had to do this a few times at shows when i had amp trouble. But you definately dont wanna plug a bass into a guitar amp. The lower frequencys of the bass will obliterate the speaker and sometimes blow the power amp. Hope this answers your question.
sound like shit mate just stick with your usual amp
Yea I heard that it messes up the amp but besides that its all koo. So WHATS WRONG WITH PLAYING BASS?
