Can anybody tell me what type of vinegar is used to adjust ph? Red wine, apple cider, white? Also, whats the ratio to mix? How much per gallon to bring ph down 1 full point? Thanks:thumbsup:

Vinegar is one of those emergency fixes; you should get some proper pH up/down for adjustments. That being said, however:
Type: Whatever you have.
Ratio: Use straight
Amount: Depends upon the buffering capacity of the solution to which it is being added. Add in very small amounts, checking as you go.
White vinegar, you need to test your tap water first to determine how much you need to lower it. Start with a small amount of vinegar and then test again. Each tap water is different from city to city all depends on how much chlorine they put in the drinking water.
Also depends heavily on the CaCO3 content of your water.
I do have ph down from my local hydro shop but Im growing Hashberry and the breeder recommends vinegar so as to not have too much salt build up. Any thoughts on that?
its personal pref, but both will work, one will be easier than the other is all.
True that acetic acid really is C, O, and H.
But if you are in the habit of flushing your plants you should not have problems either way.
Thanks everybody for the quick responses:D
Anytime, neighbah. lol.
