new grower has questions

hi everybody i am planing my first indoor grow attempt and i have many questions for you!:)
i have already a 150watt HQI lamp is it good for growing 1-2 plants?
i will grow my plants in an empty room maybe in a corner raped with foil paper!
i think i need the lamp that i have a big<12cm>pc fan to start with
2pots<2 are the plants that i aim to grow fully>
1)and some soil these for starting are ok?
2)what kind of soil should i buy?i am asking about the kind and the parametres such as ph..
3)how big the pots should be?
4)with how many hours with the lights on should i begin with?
is there anything else that i must think as getting started?
i am going to plant many seeds <5-6> until sexing them and then have only 2females in their pots
i should not wonder about nutrients for the first time should i?

what is hqi

dont use foil, use panda film or mylar

dont forget about intake exhaust, depending on how hot the 150 gets you can prob get away with afew pc fans

lots of people use a promix, or buy a premium organic soil and add nutes to it

on pots start small and transplant when plant starts to outgrow pots

for the grow/vegg i like 18light/6dark but some use 24light/0dark, and flower 12light/12dark

if you go with basic soil you will definatly need nutrients, if you have a well nutrient mixed soil could prob get away with with no extra nutrients but this soil should not be used for seedlings as it can be to rich and kill

if i was you i would prob go with a hps and afew cfls with the grow/blue spectra

MH lighting is good for veg but you may want to get an HPS for flowering to get the maximum yield. Peace

Hi there biz.

Well where shall i start lol.

Soil: Fox Farms is meant to be really good soil to use. Try and get some worm castings and some rusty iron naisl to mix in there with it and some perlite/vermeculite for drainage and to reduce risk of overwatering.

Pot size: Try and go for deeper rather than wider. Aim for around 3 gallon. Grow bags(heavy duty plastic bag pots) are meant to be really good and much cheper than pots aswell.

Light time: Its really up to you. 24/0 or 18/6. Both are really gd but stinky seems to swear by 24/0 and dats what im on too. Go to 12/12 for flowering stage.

DONT add any nutes until after 4 weeks vegging. For the vegging period find a fertilizer with high N value. And in flowering stage find a fert with high P and K value and low N value.

Im personally doing an all CFL grow as ive seen the results the things can give. But i would get a Large watt CFL such as 200watt Envirolite. And then get a nice wattage HPS for flowering.

Use mylar or Matt white paint for reflective properties. Im using tin foil as thats all my budget could stretch for lol. Bu i wouldnt advise it as it creates hot spots on the plants.

Take into account how much light leakage your gonna have you dont wanna get busted cos of a stupid thing youve missed out lol.

Also keep an eye on your temperatures and humidity. Cannabis grows optimum at 24 degrees centigrade so aim for that sort of temp.

An HQI MH is very different from a standard, mogul MH. In the reef world, a 250w DE HQI MH pendant will penetrate water farther than a 400w MH.
