Confused about heat problem...

Here is my situation:

I am pulling cool air from under the house through the air cooled hoods... I am running 3600 watts in my grow room. Pulling air through the hoods with a six inch Vortex fan. The model number on it is VTX600. I looked it up on the net and it says it pulls 2600 RPM.

Now, I am venting the room with a cheaper fan I bought at Home Depot.. but it has 3000 RPM. From what I understand you want to use the fan with more RPM to vent the room, and the lesser fan to air cool your hoods as it needs to pull less air than the fan venting the entire room.

My temps are hitting 85.7-88.0 tops. I want to get the temps down a bit. I never had a problem with heat until I installed my third 1000 watt lamp in tonight, making the total watts 3600.

I am also running a kick ass A\C unit that is mounted in ply wood and installed in window. (6500 BTU) I have that bitch the lowest it can possibly go, 60 degrees and I'm still running into heat problems.

Here is the kicker, I am running temps at 85-88 with the lights thirty inches from my temp gage. I have been unable to lower the lights more because my temps get too high. A 1000 watt lamp should be able to get 18 inches from the tops of the plants without a problem from what I've read, but I simply can't get my temps down.

My plants are currently 9 inches tall, and I'm going to flower within two days, so I could end up with plants that are 18-25 inches tall and I only have 13 inches of head space before the lights are pretty much against the ceiling (they are hung from SunLifts which take up a few inches)

I am going to run into a problem unless I can figure out a way to get the temps down, because I will run out of head room assuming I need to continue to keep the lamps 30 inches from the plants. If they get too tall, the temps will simply be too high in the top canopy area. What are my options?

I had a few ideas... I could perhaps put a six inch hole in the floor, but the way that the floor joists are set up, I would need to make a rather large modification to put a six inch hole in the floor, and I believe my land lord will replace the carpets after I move out and notice the modification (or the company doing the work will) I prefer not make any large changes to the house if possible.

I also could cut one inch off the bottom of the door to the room, so more fresh air gets into the room, but I'm not sure that is going to lower my temps that much.

I was thinking I could maybe put a six inch hole in the ply wood that covers the window. I have a tapestry covering the wood, and I'm guessing the tapestry will get pulled into the room and look somewhat odd to the outside observer. What is a boy to do here? I am thinking I'm definitely going to run into problems with temps\head space if I can't get my temps down but I'm running out of ideas. What you guys think?

Not that I've received any input but just to update you guys I just a fan at light level.... hopefully that helps. Keep ya guys posted!

Are cool tubes an option for your set-up? They're really good at keeping temps down, but of course ya have to be able to afford the necessary fans. I've thought of them for my own room, but they're just not feasible with my particular set-up, so they may not be for yours either. Just tryin to get the flow of ideas goin~?~

Razza- you want to look at CFM ( cubic feet of air per minute) not RPM ( fan revolutions per minute).
