Can the taproot of a seed be harmed if it pops while soaking? I usually let my seeds soak for like 12 hours but this time it was more like 16 hours, anyway 4 popped and im kinda wondering will they still thrive?

as soon as you see the tap root plant... leaving it in there could cause stressful, early root damage.
So in other words im probably screwed out of 4 seeds?!
Plant them and see how it goes.
I have had the same thing happen to me and i had no problems.. but my tap roots were just begining to come out.. maybe a little more then and 1/8 of an inch.
you are probably fine. Plant em now.
i soaked some seeds one time and i ahd to go to work when i came back all of them were popped and the tap root was visible by about 1/8" on some of them ... i planted them outside and everyone of them sprouted and grew up to be some of the healthiest plants i have ever grown... just letting you know what my situation was... i personally think you will be ok just dont leave them in for too long after you see the tap root... hope this helps
