Drying / curing in a humid climate like Hawaii
1st post
I did a search for the humidity drying issue and didnt find anything. It doesnt seem to dry no matter how long it is left out. Do I need to turn to the oven or a dryer and maybe water cure it??
Any ideas? Anyone else have this issue?
Thank you

Do you have a good supply of fresh air moving around it with some fans ?

Yes. I dried a harvest earlier in the year, left it hanging with a fan on low until it felt dry, a week or so, then started the curing process in a paper bag for a decent period of time, then started the jar idea. Still wet, burns terrible. Any tricks or changes to the process in a really humid area?

Extend the period you are hanging it with the fan blowing on it. Try 2 or 3 weeks. Short of that, follow nature's advice a buy a dehumidifier. They are about $300.

thank you, the dehumidifier is a bit out of my price range.
I have a propane oven with a piliot light that is always running. I think ill just lay it out in there with the oven door cracked. Its a tad warmer than the house and much dryer.

Be sure to circulate the air, but don't blow your pilot light out.
