Keep trichotillomania (hair-pulling) under control
Like so many members here, I have trichotillomania. 3 weeks ago I totally lost control and pulled a big bald patch into the back of my head. Thankfully it's slowly but surely growing back in, but it's embarrasing none-the-less! I got my sister to give me a combover, she did a really good job too:thumbsup:.
Anyway, since then I've gained remarkably good control of the problem, in fact total control about 95% of the time. How you ask? Simply, by excercising. I've gotten into a routine of doing really hard weightlifting and running, and I think the running is what especially helps. When I come back from my run I feel really good, really good about myself, and the desire is diminished to about half. But the more important thing is that even with the desire there, I have the impulse control I didn't before. Damned if I know why, but running really helps, so if you have trich you should get into it!
If anybody else has some suggestions on stopping the habbit, please post it here:)

A girl at my school who was anorexic cut out pictures of really heavy naked women- like 400-500 pounds, and posted them in her locker where it was hard for others to see them, they fell out one day and guidance found out and she never came back to school.
Not a good habit, though!
I have a tendency to forget things with my schizophrenia, so I carry around a tiny marble composition book to write things down immediately, and date them. It has worked wonders with my productivity.

Something good for trich is wearing a beanie, skullcap, or doo-rag. Something to keep you from pulling the hair on your head out. Maybe you could even consider shaving your head....but I don't know what that would be like.

Hair gel is a huge help to, changes the texture entirely so I don't get the urge when I touch my hair.
