Hey, i just picked up a secondhand 400w HPS setup today.
So i've been running it for about 5 hours, but i just started to notice the Bulb seems to be making a rattling noise.
It sounds like the metal inside it is shaking and tapping the glass, as soon as i noticed ive shut it off.
so is this normal? should i replace the bulb? or could it have something to do with the ballast as well?

is it an enclosed ballast system or what i dont really know what to say im no pro by any means but i have recieved a 150 watt enclosed ballast fixture and it doesnt make any noise whatso ever hope you figure it out man and good luck on growing
nope, its a batwing reflector.
Gonna grab another bulb since their fairly cheap and try it out i guess :(

If it's not loud and more of just a buzz/fast rattling wouldn't worry about. I have heard the same noise from HPS.
