weed should be legal, but not sold by vendors
Lets face it, the government will do anything to drain us of all the money they can. Marijuana should be legal, but not sold in head shops and shit, but it would be ok to buy from your friends or grow it. if the government sold it to the public, you'd be smoking OK weed at best, and for shit like white widow, youd probly drop a buck for say, 2 g's, because thats the way it is. I would like to see a world where everyone can smoke, and be happy, and content and not worried that they will get caught.
weed should be legal, but not sold by vendors
that would never happen, if the government ever did decide to legalize it they would have big companies producing it so that they could get money from it. I think they would probably make it legal to be sold in stores and cannabis clubs but illegal for people to grow or sell.
weed should be legal, but not sold by vendors
yeah and people would still grow it
i think you should be allowed to have like 1-10 plants for personal use and anything else u would have to register with and stuff
but knowing this countries goverment that wouldnt happen

While I do agree that the government probably would tax it probably would not be comparable to cigarettes. Think about it, the government taxes when they can get a lot of money or when they have to. The gov't can get tons of $$ off cigarettes because there is both huge demand AND health benefits to be gained by dissuading people from smoking.
With marijuana on the other hand, there are far less people interested or participating in smoking, therefor harder to tax for high dollar. Second, the health risks are next to zilch for MJ so that issue is not such a big deal either. Just food for thought, it might be more of a niche drug that is barely taxed if at all.

Of course it can be taxed. Not everyone is going to want to grow it. Just like any of us cigarette smokers could probably grow tobacco, while it would be illegal, mostly none of us do it. There would be companies growing it for commercial value, companies selling seeds (legally), etc. Not everyone has the patience and will to grow good pot, or any at all. Just like we could all probably take the time to learn how to cook gourmet dinners, we'd rather not and go out to a gourmet restaurant. So yes, it can be taxed.
deftdrummer: tens of millions of people smoke cannabis often in the U.S., just thought I'd let you know that, because I think you're a bit wrong on there being far less people interested in smoking. While I don't think that there will be much, if any, permanent increase in usage if legalized, I do think more people would be open to try it at least once, or do it occasionally. For the most part, I think the demand would be just as high as tobacco. After all, tobacco is unhealthy. Cannabis is not such a destructive habit.

i think it should be sold by venders like medical marijuana banks and have different kinds you can pick from but keep the bud free off all additives like the ones they put in siggys

ok dude, all I was getting at was that there are far more people that smoke cigarettes in the world than do marijuana and thats why I said that. As far as people being likely to be more interested in weed if it were legal; I highly doubt that mfqr. Think about it, why is someone more likely to get into marijuana just because it is legal? Nobody I have ever known has decided against first time marijuana use simply because it is illegal. The truth of the matter is that is not really a concern to most people. So indeed, I think you are wrong my friend

If legalized I don't think the goverment would restrict growing it. They don't tax the growing of tobacco, only the selling of it. I can grow tobbacco in my back yard and cure and smoke it no problems, its when it is cultivated and sold that tax comes into the equation, I personally think it should be the same for mj, if you grow and do not sell for profit then no restrictions, but if you cultivate to sell you should be taxed and have to get a licensce and be subject to inspections just like anything esle. Thats because while most people are good natured, there will be greedy growers who grow in unsanitary conditions, spray glass on the bud to increase weight, no flushing ferts, and all that shit should be regulated to protect consumers.

yeah if they ever legalize it here in the states the gov't will regulate it heavily...expect taxes and weird prices
