It is that time...
You know, not much in common, views on many things are way different...you know there is no future...
do you keep em around, and try and be friends? Do you slowly let them down?
Do you tell them you dont want to see them anymore because...blah...blah...blah?
or do you just ignore them and hope that they go away?
hmmm would have i done? all of the above... i used to take the cowards way out...
now i just let them know i still like them, but i can't pursue anything deeper with them... and i want see other people. i know it sucks, but what can ya do? i am still there for them if they need it... but i let them know... when you get to know me, you would understand... i communicate well and somtimes they end it before i do, just because they can see it too... i never set up a split out of the blue... that's harsh on her, and too be honest... isn't pimp, could make it messy, and you don't thrash the relationship (it may no longer be a mating relationship, but there is still a relationship)
this is of course if she is cool and all that, but it just isn't right for you...

If you dont like them then just dont hang out with them. I only have had one "friend" that I had to cut off because I realised how little we had in common and how easily he would try and steal my[or anybody elses] girlfriend. I just met up with him one day and told him straight out that I cant hang with you no more. He asked me why? I said some reasons but also told him that it's not my place to point out everything I dislike, you will find out your faults as your go through life...we all will.
Of course some of his friends shout at my randomly calling me a prick even though im sure he spun some bullshit story to them. Ohwell im much happier now!
It takes 2 strong, mature, secure people to remain friends after a break up. I am friends with some of my ex's, some we couldn't be put in the same room together alone.
It is best to be honest and do it quickly. Later on you can worry about whether you want to remain friends, after some time has passed.
I prefer a respectful, clean cut. But no hard feelings. Like FBR^ said above, it's better to wait until the heart is healed to be friends again. I still can't speak to some ex's of mine.
If its that time and you know it, tell her immediately. But tell her in a consoling way so she realizes you arent trying to hurt her, you just know that the two of you arent compatible as a couple. If you still care about her then tell her that, give her reassurance. Tell her you would love to still hang out with her if its not too hard for her, but you realize that you werent meant to be and you wanted to end it before bad blood formed between the two of you.Quote:
