Oh crap-Not another one!

So....I am 22 years old and find all my friends having kids! My best friend already has a son that is a year and a half old, and shes 6 months younger than me! My other best friend, calls me last night, and says shes pregnant! She doesn't know if shes going to keep it, and shes a year younger than me.

My other really good friend is 20 years old and she is 5 months pregnant!

Yesterday I hung out with 2 of my friends who each have 2 kids(although one of their daughters died-but thats a whole different story)..and they are both a few months older than I am.

My mom got pregnant with me when she was 22 years old.


I am freaking out...everyone close to me is having kids or getting married...what the hell..I feel like a little kid still!

Your 22! Be glad you have time to chill out befor you have kids! Not that I can talk im 18 and would loveeee a child to take care of --with a wonderful husband and loads of money fo course -- But think about it this way, I bet all of your friends with kids are jealous u still have your freedom and don't have to deal with dirty diapers and screeming babies in the middle of the night.

My friends are finally starting to go through their first round of kids. Either that, or divorces.
We're all about 30... I'm not even ENGAGED yet, lol... but I look at it like, hey, if I want to borrow a cute lil munchkin for the afternoon, and have an excuse to go to the zoo, GREAT! I've got my pick! And when it comes time for naps and crankiness... lol you know the deal!
Just hand the kiddo back to mum.

I wasn't saying it like I am jealous and want to have a kid..

...I'm just surprised...
..surprised that all my friends are having kids...and surprised that it is so normal that they are all having kids.

It is just a weird place to be in life. I don't plan on having kids until I feel really ready-I have 2 dogs and one is a very challenging puppy. I'm just fine with that for now.

I plan on finishing college and such before having kids.

Thing is...kids aren't always planned...

I've said it before, Tallie, and I'll say it again. Just keep holding that top thought. Keep holding it steady.

You're right; kids are not always planned. But even when they are and are welcomed into ideal circumstances, they rock your world and turn your life upside down. Play now. Get smarter. Get educated. Get richer. You can be a wonderful mommy later when you've had plenty of time to be a kid yourself. In the meantime if you have baby fever, just love those babies your friends are having . . . . I know you weren't saying you intended to join the club. But still, I know how that can be almost contagious at a certain stage in life.

I have a pretty large family and I am one of the middel cousins from all of my momâ??s brother and sisters kids. All of the younger ones have kids and there lives suck. Not because they have kids, they donâ??t have time or money to any thing. And all the older ones that had kids early now there lives suck. Either they are stuck with someone they donâ??t rely like because of the kids or they have to put up with someone they hate because of the kids. Either way it sucks for them.

Yeah, I'm not too keen on my friends lifestyles either. Stresses me out sometimes just being around them.

I'm not planning on having kids anytime soon. I won't even finish college for another 2 or so years, and I plan on having something established by the time I do decide to have kids.

However, none of my friends really planned to have kids...just made some stupid mistakes...which sucks for them...but they aren't unhappy-they just live different lifestyles than I. They love their kids, but they definitely have to deal with a lot. Some don't do a very good job at it either, in fact I think they could all do much better-but hey, nothing is ever perfect.

I grew up with a young single mom and I am happy and turned out great as far as I am concerned, but I would like to see what it is like to not have to have kids and struggle and be single etc.

I went throught the same thing when I was younger [1980] all my sistas, my girlfriends was having babies. I got over it real fast and was glad I dint have another, 2 was plenty.

Take care of yourself theres lots of time for the babies its so much nicer without em and quieter

Hi hon, I was 27 when I had my first- married almost 8 years! I do not regret waiting in the least! I strongly recommend that all women wait 5 years (or more) before having their first child!

I spent my senior year at a continuation school. I was virtually the only childless/non-pregnant gal there! I've seen the "joys" of young motherhood! Plus, I was already scarred by my parent's rather unpleasant divorce. No way was I going to put any child of mine through anything like I went through! I waited until I was SURE my marriage was going to last (it has- 40 years).

So just take your time, babysit your friend's kids when you need a "mothering" fix! You have plenty of time for until the ticking of that biological clock gets too loud to ignore! Have fun and party!- Granny:hippy:

A kid is a pretty big thing, I dont even plan on wanting a kid till im atleast in my 30's. Im only gonna live once so im gonna make sure I have fun, settle out my life. Get a job, get married, and all that good stuff befor a kid. I just wish they would come out talking and potty trained. Thatd be nice.
