Is there anyway to take the audio from a video and just simply make that into a wma or mp3 track?
yes im sure there are a million ways but i suggest just using a program which directly records the output from ur sound card (if u have a sound package from creative i think their recording program does)
yes all you have to do is put the video into windows movie maker(which comes standard with xp). when u put the video into it there will be two bars at the botom. it automatically divides the video part and sound parts. you can delete the video part and save the sound as mp3. i have used this method a couple of times.
Yeah I thought there would be you can do anything with computers these days and all the programs that have been invented, got a link or anything im not very good with this lol.
Thanks king of the world, what i want to do is get a song (video) from youtube which I cant get anywhere else and then change it to mp3 will the size be about 5mb for me or would it still be like 20mb?
lots of ways.... hell you could do it easily as hell with adobe photopreimier....
you can also get a video converter that's usually used to convert videos between diffrent formats (.avi, .mov, .mpeg, etc) and convert the video file to mp3.... or .wav...
btw i don't know of any free program that is unlimited...
this is what I would have done in college if my teacher asked me to do it.
i assume it is from a video cassette. record the video's audio via VCR/stereo mix and record it to a cassette tape. bring it into the studio and record the tape to the computer. save as mp3. done.
god i loved doing bumpers for radio!!! i should go back to the station and get the DJ gig again. lol
Does the size go down also?
yea the size goes down alot because most of the size is the pictures from the video. i just checked it right now, what i did was take a music video i downloaded and turned it into audio. it used to be 76 mb and now its 2mb. big difference.
and here is a free link on download.com that has windows movie maker.
Windows Movie Maker - Reviews and free downloads at Download.com
Camp, do you use firefox?
There are some plugins for firefox that will let you download flash videos (saved as .flv). I personally use Download Helper and am very happy with it, although another one is Video Downloader.
Once you have the .flv file, you can extract the audio to .mp3 with FLV Extract.
It's as easy as that.
