PH Problem: PH Down or Earthjuice PH Down which is better 4 soil
my tap water has lately been very high...its normally 7 but now ranges b/t 7.4-7.9...i'm a soil grower and usually have the problem on the opposite end of the spectrum and use Earthjuice ph up (very rarely)...my question is which would you recommend for a soil grow if ph needed to be adjusted regularly...PH down or Earthjuice's ph down...i try to stay organic which is why i used earthjuice but i don't see many using their product...what do u recommend?

any1 with soil experience? my plants are showing signs because of the high alkaline level 7.4-7.9...i don't wanna use vinegar...is ph down safe for organic soil grows? I know tha earthjuice ph down is organic but don't know if u can use it regularly...help?

I use PH Down, and it does the job just fine. I am also growing organically. I'm sure you already know, but start by adding REALLY small amounts, i've found 1ml will take 2 liters of water down a fair bit, far more than expected. So practice, and adjust.

Yup- when trying a new product, 'less is more'.
Mix up your fert solution. Check pH. Add about a half mL. Check pH again. Repeat until you get to where you are going.
Vinegar is not as bad as you think. It's a perfectly serviceable emergency backup for soil growers. Hydro, not so much!
If you use a humus-based compost, you will have a much bigger range in which to err before pH becomes a problem- it's buffered by the organic acids. Organic growers should be aware of this and learn to use it to their advantage.
