Information Overload

When I get alone, high and enter a room with a bunch of people (even if i know them) it becomes too much for me to handle. For example 5 minutes ago after getting home from picking up forms from school I was still high and I walked into my house through the garage/kitchen door. As I open the door I start to notice people are in my kitchen, my brother is sitting at the desk right next to the door. I am scared at this point for some reason, but it's too late to turn back as the door opens further I see more people a few of my brothers friends I recognize and his girlfriend and two small children i assume to be his girlfriend's relatives. Even though in a normal situation I am fine with any of these people (I've even smoked with a majority of them, and buy weed from one) I get terrified and just say "uh.. whats up?" and then just keep walking up to my room.
Am I the only stoner that experiences this or is this just some weird freaky thing only I have happen?
