I believe this is wrong, the world is in a poor state, we shouldnt be worrying if there is a simple trace of life on some distant rock. If it is even possible for Mars to be livable, it would take millions of years for an atmosphere to develop. There for I think money should be going towards making this planet last longer.

i'd by far rather our tax money go to useful things like space exploration or disease research then what it's being used for now....
what is our tax money being used for now?
for a war, that is not our own, even after the 'enemy' begged for us to stop...
to put 'criminals' in jail (by 'criminals' of course i mean BS like our drug laws, some others too)
to head up a company like FEMA and Homeland security, both of which are nearly useless when they are actually needed (need i mention katrina...)
and of course alot goes to useless trials, alot of which being 'celebrity trials'... michael jackson, oj simpson, paris hiltion, martha stewart... need i go on?
it's getting wasted any way you go about it.. atleast this way SOMETHING good might come of it.
and i don't really care what you have to say about my opinion it is my opinion you don't like what i said about the war or other issues, ignore it.... i won't even dignify it with a response....

I think NASA should be richly funded. If we're talking about what's best for society, a better understanding of the universe, and the possibility of other life will ultimately lead to the citizens of the world uniting and feeling like one common family, which would ease a lot of the problems we have domestically. Maybe the bar should be raised for the astronauts though:rolleyes:

Bc we can learn alot about our own planets past and future by learning about other planets. You never know what we could find. Plus many of the planets out there have minerals that we dont or that were running out of that could possibly help us out greatly.To me its important to try to get as much information as we possibly can about our world and all the worlds out there.
