Ok I am starting my own small (3-5) 5-gallon bucket hydro/aero system.
What is a good solid basic pump to use? I was looking at little giant brand but I am very open to any out there. I really want your opinion. I am looking at 2 or 3 spray heads inside 3-5 (5 gallon) buckets - all coming from a source resvoir. Any one have any input for me?

Home depot has alot of pond pumps that are good for that.
Not sure about what size you would need though I'm sure its not the largest or the smallest. Maybe around the 140 range.
well I bought a 140 pump for one bucket... seems a little weak to me
for my next project I think I will go for something great than 500.

This one is 950gph. It doesn't list the head but I'm sure within say 3ft it would be more than enough.
There is a 1000+ Wayne too.
With grounded plug too.
I know a few people who use the "little giants". :) I like them and so do they. They last a while and come in many diff. sizes.
ok well I am still working on the big pump ... researching.
but I went ahead and bought a ($22) little 140 beckett for my home made 5 gallon bucket cloner and I picked up a 360 stream sprayer because the 360 (green) aero-cloner mist head seemed to not work so great....

how did you set that bucket up i have a 5 foot 6 inch tube with same sprayers as you, sith a res but want to do buckets two.,
ps i have a 1/2 horse pump an d it was heating my res water . i had to hang it at the top inch of the water. be carefull
a marine bilge pump? they run off 12 volts.
The 'Eco' pumps stocked by national garden wholesale. They are cheap and by all accounts long-lived and tough.
