Quick cloning question I couldnt find an answer to
i couldn't find an answer from reading on drugs-forum.com faq's or the grow faq's on this site and the first 10 pages on the basic growing section... so sorry if this question has been asked before... i couldn't find the answer anywhere.
i was at borders today reading a jorge cervantes book and read that you have to wait 2 months of vegetative growth to take cuttings, ive also read somewhere that you just have to wait until the nodes are alternating... ... the DWC method is f a s t.. .i know if i let it grow for two months it would be gigantic!
...how long do you guys wait until cloning?

I cloned at 6 weeks into veg, but to be honest as long as you can see a cutting oppurtunity on a plant take it.
I guess it's better to top the plant early and use that as a clone and then take the next two sprouts for clones that come out of it.
So probably, you can clone anywhere after 4/5 nodes to be safe :)

There's no advantage to taking a top for a clone; so don't top your plant unless you would otherwise do so. Lower branches actually tend to root a little faster.
Part of growing is knowing your plants. There is no set-in-stone rule about how old the mother needs to be before you can take a clone from her. You should be able to look at your plant and see "okay, she has some branches I can trim." I'm trying to be helpful here, not be a smart ass. If this explanation is too vague, post photos of your plant when you think it is ready to cut, or close to ready, and you'll get all the help you need.

I actually avoid taking tops for clones; if I intend to take cuts off a plant, I pinch the top YOUNG (at node 5) and take side shoots as clones as soon as they are large enough.
