Guy at the local nursery

I just got my seeds from Mandala, and I wanted to get them started in soil right away, so I went to the local nursery. I was telling the guy there that I was planting in a concrete pit and that I needed some good soil for that. He asked me what I was growing, and I said I wasn't sure yet, but maybe some berry bushes. (like hashberry bushes! :D) He said the soil would be good for that, but that if I wanted to grow, and I quote, "something exotic, like marijuana", I would need fertilizer. I just laughed, and he said that he hadn't grown any of that in years.

I got my soil, but I'm debating going back there and talking to him to see what experience he has as a grower. However, I did promise my brother (whose house I'm growing in) that I won't tell anyone about my grow without asking him first.

I'm wondering why he pegged me as a MJ grower. Maybe it's just that most 24-year-old guys wearing shorts and sandals with liberal-ish bumper stickers aren't planning on growing petunias? Or maybe he could tell that I was lying when I told him what I was planning on growing? I thought I was bluffing pretty well though. Who knows? :smokin:

I seldom meet a nursery or greenhouse worker that doesn't either grow MJ, or is happy to help you grow it (and sell you the means to do it ) ... one of my local nurseries, is owned by a real prick, that hates pot and pot growers, but he stocks everything we need, without fail ... ( $$$$$ talks ) ... :jointsmile:

Last time I was at the nursery picking up pest controls and compost, the guy there offered me a job on the spot after talking to me for a few minutes and after I complained about the lack of any humic acid supplements at the rather LARGE shop. After walking outside and slinging 2- 40 pound sacks of compost over one shoulder and wandering off to my car, he comes running up and asks if I'd like to come work there. I laughed and said, "Naaaaaaah I already spend waaaay to much time fucking around with plants at my house... and bet you won't pay me as good a wage for it... " He was like, "Yup. I'll bet you do!" :D
Nursery workers are SUCH potheads, lol.

Yes, I'm sure you fooled him completely. :D I'd go talk to him but keep one thing in mind.....you are not now....nor are you EVER....growing MJ.....you're growing tomatoes. You are ALWAYS growing tomatoes. We ganja people LOVE tomatoes for some reason. We grow TONS of them.

At my hydro store my guy has a sign up that says "We Don't Care What You Grow.....Just Don't Tell Us" and he literally walked me through my first "tomatoe" grow with the WORD never being spoken.

I'll tell ya, since booting the ex, laying off the brews, and putting in several hours a week of 'kayak time', I went from 5'2, 185 with a beer pudge to 160 with real definition in my upper arms and even a little in the abs. That's it. No dieting, no weights, and for the love of GOD NO FUCKING JOGGING!!!!!! You should have SEEN the pound-plus ribeye I put away last night. Oh yum.
I am now available to lift heavy things that need liftin'.

Do I need an appt?

PS...I love swimming....but worse than jogging......straight laps....:(
