Hello guys, I have been told more than once that if I keep my weed with some tangerine (or lemon) peel, it'll keep it fresh and prevent it from getting too dry. Well I tried, and it did keep it very fresh for a few days, but today I opened my plastic bag and realized that my weed is getting moldy (because of the moisture, I suppose).
I guess I shouldn't have kept the weed with those tangerine peels for so many days.
I have to throw away that weed, don't I? :(
unless u want some bad shit to happen i would, how much of a shame is it grams wise

Yeah you will have to throw that away, mould can cause serious respiritory problems. I hope it wasnt too much mate. A couple of hours max should put some moisture into the bud, but not enough to make it mouldy.
At least you wont make that mistake again. How much bud did you have in the bag?
dont throw it away, cut your losses and make hash oil.
well, I already threw away the moldy parts, and saved the good ones. Then I got it out of the plastic bag and put it into paper so it dries a bit. I don't know how much it was exactly (I always buy the same size , at the same price so I've never weighed the weed)
lol. There are no good parts of a bag of weed that has had mould in it. Ever heard of spores. They can travel in the air so these spores will be all over the weed even though it may not look mouldy. But hey its your health. If you want to fuck up your lungs its your choice. I wouldnt risk it for the sake of a few quid.
yea dean makes a good point... its not worth smoking a 30 dollar bag when your going to have to get serious medical help for way over what you paid for it...
Well said. Also your lungs and respiritory system are the perfect breeding ground for mould. Dark, moist and warm. Its like putting it in a culture dish.
well when you smoke it wouldnt it kill the mold neways? i would imagine that fire defeats mold any day
Incorrect. The flame is not hot enough to get rid of all of the spores. Maybe a torch lighter would do the trick -- not sure, though.Quote:

Heres why your weed went moldy: you forgot to open the bag up every day for a few mins. I'm pretty sure that would be one of the reasons. Next time, however, I would suggest putting your weed into an air-tight glass jar. Then just open it twice a day for a few minutes. This will also cure it in the process, which means more potent maryjane! (unless it has already been cured to maximum potency) :)
