I found a good branch and made this it isnt complete yet, need to sand it. any ideas on how to make it be sure not to burn?

You're pretty good with your hands, thread creator. I suggest a mouthpiece though, it'll give it a sense of style, a ghetto sense of style but style nonetheless. I want to smoke a joint out of that thing.
I Think the idea of making a wooden home made pipe is awesome. You should be fine with the bowl not burning unless you keep the lighter on it for an unreasonable amount of time. If you are still not satisfied line the bowl with tin foil. Im going to make one of those bad ass gandolf pipes.... hellls yeah
You can coat the entire thing in olive oil with a few coats, thats what I did for mine and it hasn't burned at all yet. But make sure you don't keep the flame on it for too long or who knows what'll happen.

Dats deffinatly still ghetto, but in a good way. Some nice lookin' branch pipe you got there.
We always flamed tempered ours, and then took olive oil to it. Gave it a nice look, and allowed it to have flame on it a bit more.
