ok i just want 1 bowl of homegrown bud....idc about amount so i was wondering how long would i have to wait to put a plant on the 12/12 cycle and get it to start budding?? 1 week? 2? 3? 4? plz answer and thanks, i will also just be using a seed from a good bag of weed
Since you are growing from seed, you will need to wait until the plant is about 12" tall. From the top of the soil, to the tip of the plant. That is usually a standard for flowering maturity. Also I have seen people do it at 8-9", but you will not have the most developed bud, and the plant might even not start budding until it reaches a certain level of maturity. laterz//

Here's the thing, in order to get that one bowl you need to take your seed, grow a plant then take that plant from point A to point B to point C. It's going to take a certain amount of time to accomplish these steps and all the fussing and fuming in the world isn't going to change that much.
Soooooo..... as long as you are going to the trouble of growing a plant, why on earth would you want to grow one with only one tiny bud? :D

You may consider trying a least three plants. You would not want to wait to find out you'll only have balls to smoke on. But what do I know?

Or, try and find someone that can get you some lowryder seeds. Those things will give about a half-ounce per plant if you're lucky, they don't take up much space, and they go seed to bud in two months.
You can go to 12/12 before the plant is mature, but you won't get as good yield. You will get it to mature faster though, which it sounds like is what you want.
