My first plant is just sprouting its first set of seven leaves and i was wondering if there was any way to tell yet if its a male or female at this point? Any comments are appreciated.

nope, i cant tell, you should see 2 deffinate white pistols, not the green ones.
Yup. Like twoguys said. Just keep watchin em. they should show before long. It's hard to wait I know, but you'll see soon enough. Good Luck.
Has a 12/12-hour (night primarily uninterrupted) cycle been induced?
Thanks pro gro... sensi: Not yet, i was mainly hoping some magical weed guru would be able to look at the node and tell me it was a female :weedpoke:
Will i be able to tell what sex it is without changing the light cycle eventually? I want to keep it in veg for a while just for more yield, but don't want to waste my time raising a male plant.
yeah at about 6~8 weeks of veg growth.
Good luck!

nice
Kinda small preflower but it looks like a girl to me!! Don't you just love preflowers? I know I do, I was able to seek-n-destroy my only male out of 4 that i kept this year. That was last week.
That plant looks like its gonna make some good bud too, bud.
Goodjob and keep us posted on her.
When I top a plant, I take a fairly large cutting. I keep the plant vegging and getting bigger under 24/7. I stick the cutting in water under 12/12 lighting and try to both root it and get it to flower. Ideally, I end up with a rooted female clone with flowers that I stick back under 24/7 lighting asap to veg and grow. I'm only so-so at cloning, but I always get flowers doing this! I am able to identify any males and get rid of them. Just remember to label all your plants and cuttings! - Granny:hippy:
