I just thought of a great idea!(I think!):D
What about LST in a birdcage? Using the "crossbars" that they use for perches which can be adjusted by as little as .25 inches!
Im really curious to hear any feedback you may have.

yeah, I could see where that would work, I think you mean using the cage like a "Screen of Green" setup  ... if ya already got a birdcage, cool, but buying one would be a lot pricier than chicken netting :smokin:
I'll post a pic of this when my girls are of age!
Anybody done anything like this? Feedback appreciated!!:stoned:
Training is most effective when done to FLATTEN the canopy (or bring it into an even proximity to the lights).
I don't see a birdcage SCROG as an improvement over just letting the plant grow naturally.
Plus the stems can swell to almost an inch thick, even indoors...
I'd stick to just cheap netting stretched flat if you plan to train. The sort that is sold to keep birds off blueberry bushes is CHEAP.
Also remember that you have to get the plant/buds off the net- most people just cut the net at the end to free the buds.
Right but is there a difference in benefits whether you literally flatten the canopy or FIM and adjust the canopy using the crossbars?
I also think I may be able to provide more light availability by keeping it spread out? I'll show you a pic of what I mean when she gets bigger.
Thanks again though for some good thought provoking criticism!
