well, i want to start a grow in my backyard (actually woods) but there are a lot of bare places that get a lot of sunlight. the only thing i dont know, is if the soil will be ok, and how much i should be watering them. i could always put better soil where ill be planting... yeah im a noob at growing, but i cant keep relying on my dealer. im all ears on this one :thumbsup:

agreed... most parts of the US its way too late.. but dont let that discourage you from growin cheefer.. the dirt in your backyard isint going to cut it, like you said, you can add garden soil to make it a nutritious medium.. the best way to do it is in buckets though.. when you plant plants into the ground, theyre stuck where they are when they get to a certain point.. if you have them in containers, you can move them at your whim for whatever reason (weather, someone spotting them, animals, ect) its a huge advantage... a little harder to hide them but the pros heavily outweigh the cons.. i do this because i live in florida, and this time of year a hurricane can come out of nowhere.. and if your plants are in the ground they are at the mercy of the weather.. with buckets, you can just grab em up and do what you need to do... that would be my advice (you dont have to take it, of course ;)) if you decide to use containers, use this mix.. its the SHIT!! 50/50 potting soil (the lighter weight the better) and peat moss.. then add vermiculite and perlite.. it makes for a super light and airy potting mixture (way easier for the roots to establish themselves in) and the peat moss holds 20 times its weight in water, releasing it to the roots as needed.. good luck on your grow man
putting it in a pot is out of the question. although its in the woods, we dump grass cuttings back there, and logs and stuff, so itd be a little obvious. although what i think ill do, is one day when my rents arent around, ill go dig a decent holeand fill it with the good stuff and seeds, the top it with the old soil to make it less obvious. im not taking it too seriously right now since its too late, so ill probly just do that for now. im scared to order seeds though, so idk how ill be able to getem.
honestly man don't grow if you still live with your parents...
if you get caught, they can take everything your parents have worked for.. Plus if you really want to grow the plant right, your gonna have to make several trips for watering, feeding, etc... And your parents will probably get a little suspicious..
But if you do decide on doing it, best of luck.. And the only other advice I could give you is to read, read, and read.. You can get so much info from these boards and other sites. Well, good luck :jointsmile:
i still live with my parents and i grow :D theres a simple solution to hiding the buckets too man.. just dig your hole the size of the container and put the container in the hole.. that way theyre still transportable, and the pots are hidden.. yer gonna be hatin life when you absolutley have to move them and you cant ... but hey, just a suggestion
