i cant seem to get a good close up i have a cheapish kodax easyshare camera and it is crap close up.
do you think its down to the hps being to bright?

Nope.....i have an old one exactly like that and the close ups just plain suck big time, no matter what. Sorry. :(
lower-level cameras usually do not have 'MACRO' mode, which is for extreme close-ups ... a typical camera will only focus down to about a foot, perhaps, while the 'MACRO' function brings it to an inch, or so ... either use a different camera, or back off to a foot, or so distance ... :smokin:

yep that's mine too and reaper is exactly right....any closer and it starts getting blurry. An inch would be a complete blob.
