Green Street Hooligans (movie)

anyone seen this movie? It's from 2005 with "Frodo" who plays an American and visits his sister in London. He gets caught up in the "soccer"(silly term) or football scene, with the boozing, and fighting. Lots of fighting.

Great movie based in England (of course), Manchester.

Now that I hear a Brit say Bruv or Bruva, I now know it doesn't sound as weird as it did before. No offense to the Brits, great bunch. but I just mean when you're in Canada and get accustomed to something, it sounds weird to hear it. :)

dont get confused thats the london accent, its based in london, manchester is just where they go up north in the film for a little part of it to watch a match.

Ah, right. I missed the first 20 minutes or so, but the rest was great!

The ending is pretty messed up when buddy gets beaten to death. Kind of sad actually.

lmao.. yeah i wasnt expecting that when i first seen it, its like in every single movie you know whats gonna happen... good guy lives on bad guy dies or gets arrested or something but i didnt expect him to die

Nah, I haven't seen Football Factory Campbell, but I have heard of it before. Truthfully, this is one of the first football, hooligan type English flick I've ever seen.

I mean I've seen Snatch, and Lock Stock 2 Smoking Barrels, but this Green Street one was exciting to see.

Back when my dad was growing up in Holland, they used to have the Mods and stuff. Same kind of thing in a way. Just a bunch of guys fighting and fucking each other up.

When I first moved to Canada, I lived in a very small town in Alberta. Every weekend, it would be us verses the other town 12 km away. We'd go there or they'd come to us, but every Friday night we would go fight each other. For no reason, just for fun and because. :p

Yeah because theres nothing else to do lol..

football factory is more realistic i would say and another film called the business is pretty good, i will try and get the links for you for both films if you like.

Yes, in small towns there is nothing to do. We would skateboard all day, start boozing up at around 6 or 7 p.m, then by 10 p.m it was fight time. We didn't beat each other blood hungry animals, but come Monday morning, you know you'd been in a fight.

That'd be sweet if you could find those links, then I'll watch them tonight when I get back. I just got a DVD burner too so I can copy shitloads of stuff.
