Pyrethrin!
I battle thrips with a few basic weapons:
Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!
[To Cardinal Biggles] I can't say it - you'll have to say it.
Biggles: What?
Ximinez: You'll have to say the bit about 'Our chief weapons are ...'
Biggles: [rather horrified]: I couldn't do that...
lol sorry brief Monty Python moment, lol...
Um.. my chief weapons are:
Pyrethrin!
um, Bug bombs!
Safers brand pyrethrin and insecticidal soap veggie spray is found at home depot. Works wonders.
Bug bombs, the Raid ones in the blue and yellow package that are also pyrethrin compounds.
Physical barrier to stop reproduction, a paper plate with a slit in it, over the top of the soil, keeps the little shits from burrowing into the dirt to pupate.
Good luck!
I usually use Fox Farm's "dont bug me", you can spray a plant once in a great while, and the pests seem to know better than to fuck with it. just dont get it in your soil/growing medium.
cheers boys, sounds good except i cant really have a bug bomb goin off at my house(kids and pets) i also vent outside my eaves above my front door!!!!!! do bug bombs smoke? also ive never heard of foxs farm `bug off` here in england?
no, they don't smoke, and you can re-enter the room in 4 hours with the kind I use.
