Urine test in 48hrs!! need help fast!

I've got a urine test for employment and they gave me a 48 hr window to get tested (I wish I knew earlier than today, especially given I've just had my 3rd interview with them yesterday!). They will be sending the test kit with instructions via over night mail and I'm supposed to go into the Quest lab.

So looks like I've got to go in either tomorrow or by end of Saturday (I was told the labs are open on Saturdays as well). I've been smoking heavily for the past 5-6 years and have stopped cold since the beginning of April as I started job searching (almost 3 months now).

I was starting to panic and went to the GNC store and purchased the STRIP NATURAL CLEANSER. But given all the feedbacks on this board and others, it seems like this may not be as fail-proof as it sounds. Which of the following seems to be my best option at this point??

1) Drink lots of water/cranberry juice and take the STRIP drink...and if I do so, should I drink this today so I don't piss green and fail as many have done so? Or does that 8-hr window really important in passing the test w/ this drink? Some say they drank it few days before, some a day before, some the day of...and pass/fail results are mixed. What should I do??

2) Go with the dilution method. Do the same as option 1, buy a home test kit from drug store, test myself first thing in the morning tomorrow and hope I pass...and if I do, don't drink the STRIP and just wing it (hopefully the gap I've had since April has been long enough to piss clean). I was also going to couple that with some exercise today and tomorrow (probably running). But would strenuous exercising be too close to the test time??

3) Perform the substitution as many have posted. But will I have enough time to get the necessary tools and preparation in time for my test?? And sadly, I can't think of anyone off hand who can provide a clean sample for me on such short notice =( Maybe this option will not work for me...

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Although I've read hours of posts, I still can't get myself to come to a decision without feeling any doubt.

First, check the questdiagnostic .com website for loacations in you area and see if they are open Saturday and if so the hours. Look on the left side for find location.

What is your height and weight?

They have a testing site right by my potential future employer and they are open from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.

And I'm 5'8" and weigh 150lbs.

This is the first drug test I've ever had to get and I'm just extremely nervous...

As I'm continuing to read more posts...I'm starting to feel slightly better about my chances.

There are definitely mixed reviews about how long it takes a heavy smoker to cleanse out his/her system naturally...but in either case, I think my absence of nearly 80 days seems to be plenty of time.

And I've also worked out 3-4 times a week for about 2 months after I quit, although I've been lazy the last few weeks with number of interviews.

I guess I'll just test myself tomorrow morning, and if I pass...I won't have much to worry about, right?? haha I sure hope so.

I feel pretty stupid posting a long thread and practically answering my own questions...perhaps I'll have more feedbacks tomorrow to put my mind at ease.

if you've quit smoking for 80 days and have been excersizing and eating well, you should be just fine... also if you're trying to use the dilution method... trying drinking the liquid from a jar of pickles... it'll taste like shit, but i've heard it works (never really had to take a test myself, but freinds have tried doing this and say it has helped detox)

BKIM, you should be fine though at 80 days especially since you are not overweight. Try to return your stuff back to GNC and if you want get a home test just for peace of mind.

As I mentioned on the original post, I did purchase a home test kit from drug store (couldn't order one online on such short notice) and just tested myself with the first void of the day.

This was the first check test where you dispense 3 drops over the sample well, with two lines in the control window and the THC window being a negative result for marijuana detection.

A quick excerpt from the manual:

'The line next to THC in the Test window may be lighter or darker than the line in the Control window. The presence of any line next to THC is considered negative. Do not attempt to interpret the result based on how light, dark, or faint the line may appear.'

Now, my THC line was definitely on the lighter side but I could see the line clearly. So according to the booklet, I passed the test!!!

I can rest easy now, already called GNC to make sure I can return the STRIP drink...and take the test tomorrow instead of today so I can at least drink some water/cranberry juice throughout the day and in the morning to be safe.

Thanks for all the great info on this board! I really, really am appreciated of how much I've learned over such a short amount of time. Man...looks like I quit just in the nick of time! :D

Now time to pass the real deal...LOL
