SMOKING WITH THE FLU...OR A COLD
Have you smoked weed when you have the flu or a bad cold? Had a bad case of the flu this week ,hit the bong a few times earlier and man it tasted weird, where as before i had the cold it tasted fruity as. Also noticed weed does not get me as stoned. Has this happened to you/ Does anyone know why this happens ?:(

Oh come on, child! Of course, it tasted weird! Food is tasting weird, too, isn't it? When you can't smell anything, your sense of taste sucks! You aren't getting as high because your lungs are all crudded up, so the THC isn't hitting the lung's lining. Plus you don't feel well -and that's a bring down! Get some home-made, from "scratch", chicken soup in you, sleep as much as you can and take your vitamins! - Granny:hippy:
SMOKING WITH THE FLU...OR A COLD
I was wondering the same thing when I was recently sick with a cold, and I understood that weed can weaken the immune system temporarily. I stopped puffing for a couple of days but I'm a regular toker, so it was hard to sleep without having puffed during the day. I didn't feel much better and sleep is way important in getting over a cold, so I blazed up again(vaped), and it actually cleared out my lungs a bit. This was in the final stages of my cold, so this isn't typical. I think vaporizing sparingly only when needed for sleep is okay when you're sick and it won't prolong the sickness too badly.

From what I have heard from doctors, your lungs are much more vulnerable when you have the flu or cold, only exacerbating the harshness which weed has on the lungs; you are, for instance, more likely to contract pneumonia for doing it while sick; thus it's a good idea to wait it out.

bingo!! oh my high is right on, smoking weakens your immune system thus rendering you more susceptible to the cold and other flu symptoms. You could even get pneumonia like oh my high said. The best thing you can do for yourself is quit for a few days or even a full week, or just cut back quite a bit. It sucks but you will be able to smoke sooner than if you smoked during your illness. Just think of it like a drug test where smoking is not an option what so ever, you'll get through it.

this past fall i had a really bad cold, and stupidly i continued to smoke, which resulted in me contracting pneumonia. i was soooooooooooo sick and so now very rarely do i smoke if i have a cold or anything.

She's right.. your best bet is to try and recover....and don't stop whatever your method of recovering is......mine gets REAL tricky cause i'm hispanic and our elders have lots of........homemade stuff;) sounds like a stereotype but it's true.
you say all this now but when I'm sick, i kinda know it's not healthy.... i mean... *shudder* think about it.
