A horrible screw up by the cops

A long story shortened I witnessed a guy beat someone until he was half dead about 4 months ago. I called the cops on the guy before he finished the job, the cops came I gave my info and pointed out the guy.

Well today the DA called me to her office to hear my testimony I tell her everything and I notice a look of suprise on her face. The guy who got completely beaten had a long record they assumed it was his fault and being unable to pay bail hes been in prison the past four months while I went about oblivious to the fact. She instantly made a bunch of frantic calls to dismiss the case and get the poor guy free.

So hes been in prison for getting beaten up?

He should get quite a bit of money for that.

I believe things happen for a reason,,,maybe you saved his life... Maybe this was just his fate...

yeah..maybe if he didn't get locked up..the other dude would have finished the job...I dunno...if it's not that...I'd sue...lol
