This is a weird question but I am currently running an AMD Athlon 3000+. The man at the store says this means it's a 2.3ghz but runs at 3.0ghz. Is this correct anyone??

No, it runs at 2.3Ghz, the reasons its called a 3000+ because its (in theory) faster than intels equlivant chip.

You can overclock it to 3Ghz, but you'd probably want to buy a better fan/heatsink
you would also would wanna get a temp gauge cuz overclocking heats fast and can melt it destroying the whole compQuote:
