Seed development on a plant in 24h light
Hey peeps, I've got a good one for ya today.
Okay, so my grow is essentially 2 rooms (it has spilled over into the entire house but that is a side-effect of my zealotry... lol).
The flower room is upstairs and the veg closet is downstairs. When I get males from a strain I ADORE, I take them and stuff them in the back corners of my veg closet to sorta hang out until I want to play with them.
Recently I acquired a couple cuts of OG Kush that are throwing pistils like CRAZY under 24h light. I do not know whether they had been flowering but either way, I've got an interesting development... SEEDS.
I'm not sure who the baby daddy is, but he's a solid individual- I have 6 males that include toxic lemon, sourbubble, jillybean, bluemoonrocks, and a couple others. So I consider these seeds to be worth hanging on to no matter.
The question is, are seeds produced under 24h of light viable? Prone to a particular sex, or hermaphroditism?
I'm sure there's someone who has gone through this! Any insights would be GREAT.

stinkyattic...I believe that normal male/fe-male ratio would be in order. The male plants seem to normally show more often after periods of stress. As your light regement is far from a stress level all should be fine. I think I read before that you are female yourself, and an experienced grower, you should be able to weed out any bad plants anyway. Keep the eggs, ya never know what frankenweed you may have created.....peace!

Yeah I had a chat with another experienced grower last night too and it was decided not to worry, lol!
I look forward to playing with the offspring. Especially if any show the Jillybean trait of rigidity/perkiness and a VERY strong stem... something OG Kush is sadly lacking... I don't intend to SCROG any time soon.

you know how you can never find something when you're looking for it ? :wtf: ... I had a short article from one of the major breeders, suggesting the influence of lighting on the male/female ratio ... blue vs red, and hours, affecting the sex ... I will keep looking for ya :)

Reaper, I thought that photoperiod and spectrum was an influence AFTER sprouting, not while the seed was still being formed on the plant?
