Damn
Last week I had what I thought were warts cut off my neck after they came back after first being frozen off. The dermatologist said he would only call back if they tested positive. They called today and after being on hold for ten minutes, a nurse came on and said one of them tested as "pre-cancerous" and to come in tomorrow. Frankly, I'm scared shitless. Now, of course, I should have said, "Did it test malignant or not?"

Be sure and let us know how that return visit goes. I know you're worried!

Good luck my friend. We are all hoping for the best news.

Thanks for your support. Thank God it's not malignant. The doctor said there were "pre-cancerous" cells, not malignant. You people are the best. I was definitely worried. I didn't sleep a lot last night.

Scary as it is, "pre-cancerous" is definitely the diagnosis you want to hear if you have a choice between that and "carcinoma in situ" (cancer in place), which is how the pathology report reads if it's cancerous. Pre-cancerous, as your doc probably told you, simply means that there were histological changes that could, if left alone to grow unchecked, eventually become cancerous/malignant. There's not any guarantee that they would have, actually. But you never know. So I'm glad they got you back in there real quickly.
You take care of yourself and get some sleep tonight and this weekend. And keep a high-SPF suncreen on your neck in the places where you got those warts removed. Those scars are very vulnerable to even the tiniest bit of sunlight when they're fresh.
