Medical Condition

over the past year ive been dealing with neck pain when i broke my neck the doctor prescribed me hydrocodone and now they don't work anymore and recently a friend told me to get Medical Marijuana but I am Clueless about how I can do this. I live in California i broke my neck in Georgia and when i was in georgia it was so easy to get marijuana but in Cali where i live its impossible to get it please help me by either telling me info or telling me where to go to get info thanks i would really appreciate it

To keep it simple...

In order to legally use marijuana in the state of California you need a doctor to write on paper he recommends the use of marijuana to treat your health conditions.

The easy way: Find a pot doctor that specializes in writing the recommendation, they usually cost about $150 for the visit, and typically that written recommendation lasts for a year. Renewal prices vary from place to place. You will need previous health records showing you do indeed have a condition that can be recommended for medical marijuana, (chronic pain is a legal condition). The best way is to have the records with you on hand, but depending on the doctor you go to they may be able to have them faxed over. You can find a list of these doctors here.

The cheap way: Get the doctor you currently have for your neck to write the recommendation for marijuana. I say cheap because I am assuming you have health insurance, so this visit would most likely be covered by your insurance company, however the other doctors I mentioned above, are not. If you can convince your doctor to write the recommendation, I'd say this is the best method, but many doctors know very little about medical marijuana or are ignorant and care more about federal laws than their patients health.

Under the law, no doctor can tell you where to get medical marijuana, it isn't prescribed. You take the written recommendation to a marijuana dispensary, they call and confirm your recommendation is valid, and you are good to go ;)

You could find herb in GA but not in Cali? WTF? I visited a Cali once and it was impossible NOT to find herb, but I've been in GA for a while now and haven't found jack.

There might be other doctors closer, but I went to Alternative Care Consultants - Southern California. They have a few offices in Socal, I went to the one in Palm Springs, and not far are a couple co-ops. It's $150 for the visit, and an extra $10 for an ID card, however I'm not sure how useful the card is since most places still require your letter of recommendation. This is not a state issued card. Maybe after you have been to a co-op they will accept the card instead of the letter, but you'd still want the letter with you in case you are pulled over. Legally, you are required to have that letter with you anytime you are driving with your meds, the card has no legal purpose as it is not the same thing as the state ID some counties have.

But if you don't want to drive that far you can look up the list from the links I provided, I just had a pretty smooth time with ACC that I had to mention them ;)
