i found a colony of very small ants in the pot of a plant. i didnt see any signs of dammage but do you think they will cause any dammage? and if it is a problem, what can i do to prevent them. thanks

whoa if they are little black ants carpenter ants they are not good there not horrible and a huge problem but theyll f up roots.....i saw a couple in my room repotted one of the plants in it had soooo many ants in it and did root damage
ants (some of them" raise/farm aphids and aphids are bad for mary jane : (
one time i moved a few small plants out in the woods and ants ate all of my plants. including the stem. i bet they got high as hell. lol but i was pissed!

That's news to me! Ants in general aren't desirable. If nothing else, they can act as vectors for diseases. As far as I know, most common species of ant in temperate regions are herbivorous, some (such as fire ants) causing crop damage.Quote:
