Hey I got a question since im kinda new to growing. How long does it normally take to decide weather a plant is male or female. (grown outside) and where do u look to see?:

1) All the leaves are in pairs.
2) Leaves begin to alternate- they no longer have a partner leaf.
3) Preflowers begin to show. You are looking for the female's white "V" shaped hairs. Males have football shaped flower buds.
4) You got buds growing. Watch for insects, deer and rabbits and rippers!
Now just when this all happens, depends on what strain you are growing and the growing conditions. Indicas, as a rule, finish faster than sativas. I can't grow outdoors where I live- a couple of years ago, we had SNOW in JUNE! Frosts are common, too. :( We often have to "bag" or cover our tomatoes (and other crops,) at night after July because of frosts. But Granny's got a "well-lit" closet, so all is good!- Granny:hippy:
