i think it is most properly the lumen issue, how many lumens should i be looking to produce roughly?
they are way too stretched, im assuming you use flourescents? keep them within inches of the plants. then there is the aluminum foil thing. you really shouldnt use it.
Its not the lumen's issue at all. You need to get the lights closer to the plant. The closer the light is the tighter/bushier the plant will grow. If you continue to let them stretch out growing, the stems will collapse and they will simply fall over and die. They are ridic stretched.
Do you have a fan placed on them currently?
If your finger isn't burnt by the lights the plant leaves won't either as a rule of thumb, the plants are very resistant.
Lastly I'd say if you want to know how my CFL/Floro grow ended up check this out.

I think it's already been said.
I would repot in deeper pots and have maybe half the amount of stem showing then bring the lights right up close. I'd probably then add support sticks and get some nice leaves develop before I bring the feed up to EC0.8-1.0 or a 1/4-1/3 mild dose of veg nutrients or root hormone combination. After all, a plant needs nice sets of leaves to absorb light energy before they can work to use up the food.
It's good that they are uniform and don't look about to die. Try and imitate nature at times and oberve what happens out-there. On the other hand I'd do what KD4D4 does cuz those are some nice looking buds
Good idea but I wouldn't repot a 1millimetre thick plant, just pack the pots up to the top with soil to give them some leverage and bring the light down.Quote:
