Yeah, I was really really high when I heard some of Lil Wayne's new shit. Now my iPod is overloaded with all the mixtapes and stuff lol. He does have good lyrical skills and nice punch lines, plus to me he's a lot more different than most main stream rappers which is what I like, I hate to see a lot of the same shit.
Word. Lil Wayne is one of the few mainstream rappers I actually like to listen to and download.Quote:

Oh, and if you want to hear some other amazing flow and lyrics, listen to Gangstar. It takes some getting used to, cuz it's a bit different, but nobody can say that his flow and lyrics aren't the bomb :).
Oh, and don't forget about Wu Tang ;).
for me it seems like lil wayne could be so much better than he is
its like he wastes his talents on songs that all sound the same but once in a while I still find a song of his I like
Wu-Tang clan ain't nuttin to fuck wit!Quote:

By the way, these guys aren't all about "pimping, bling bling, selling drugs" and stupid shit like that. These guys talk about real shit, and not about having shitloads of money and riding in caddies, etc. These guys are the real deal when it comes to rap...
I liked him a lot better when he was like 16 or whatever and already hanging with the big dogs of Cash Money. Now that's he's like what, 21-22, his albums reflect some "maturity" I'm not totally down with.
The lyrics have definitely matured as far as content, but it's like I don't really know if I want to hear him rapping about some chick compared to songs like Shine or even a more recent Go DJ.
Still though, songs off The Carter 2 like Fireman and even Receipt still sound good every now and then, plus the beats are still insane. That's prolly the best part about his work now, to be honest. Still can't beat a Three 6 beat though lol.
cash money, young money

They're my favorite rappers/rap groups, in no particular order.
