Wow, that plant looks healthy! Especially for a first grow. What kind of light do you have on them (I assume its two but it could easily be just one plant). I think if you wanted and have enough ventilation, you could add a few warm CFLs to hang near the bottoms to give them more light. But thats totally optional. Good job
You can read my grow log for all the info ,But it is under a 250 hid and I am an eager leaf trimmer and hope to do a big trim when it goes into flower
I've never heard anything positive for trimming plants. The only times to trim are when/if you're going to top your plant, or when it's time to dry it. Other than that, you can tie branches down, or tie the branches to a dal-rod, or a plastic stick buried into the pot, to keep the plant(s) bunched together. Anyways, that's what I'm about to do to conserve space in my grow room. Anything that needs to come off of the plant during vegetative, and flowering, will come off by itself, the healthy way. Trimming her yourself can cause stress, and there's also that low chance of stressing her into hermaphroditism. Other than that, you have quite a lush, healthy plant, and you've been trimming her? Good luck with the grow bud
