Hi folks.
Little problem with my c99 clones,they have been in compost for just over 2 weeks in 3" square pots and ive noticed some leaf curl near the top of them,they are under a 400hps 18/6 at the mo,ive got good air transfair and extraction,they look like the canoe effect if you get my drift,anyway heres a pic...low humidity or overwatered? what do ya rekon?
from just looks alone i would say it is a Magnesium problem, is the entire plant like this?
are you using distilled or RO water without calmag?
whats the PH?

Im sure it aint mg mate,its only the top fan leafs,ive got epsom salts at the ready tho just incase.
Waters straight out the tap,i dont bother with my ph in compo as it buffers itself.
Tommorow ill get a rh dial to check my humidity,ill post my results..fingers crossed.

The only thing I see is some edges curling up.
It could very well be from the light too close... check your RH and let us know though. Because low humidity and high heat would be a culprit there. What's your temp?
I don't see anything that even remotely resembles a Mg problem; you would have to get better pics of the leaf surface to diagnose that anyway.
It's not overwatering though no worries on that one.
hey mines are also getting the canoe effect, ive read that it comes from high temps, something about the leaves prespiring, sorry cant help you out too much, Im still tryin to figure mine out.

Its got me puzzled tho,my new rooms 6x6x7 intakes 6" and extractions a 5 and 6 inch fan i thought 11" extraction would handle it without any problems,how wrong was I...i had to pot up today to 6.5 ltr pots and in doing so i added a 600hps to the 400hps i was using so 1000wts in total now and still hot,I know its been around 80degrees outside today and im drawing that in thro an open window,just cant understand why my extraction aint taking as much heat out as i expected?

well if you are bringing IN warm air, your total heat load is going to be quite a lot and what you should do is put an ac in that window. I mean, seriously you want to be in the high 70s and adding heat to air that is already a little warmer than you want, thats no good.
Once you fix that you should not have to really worry too much about humidity, just keep your plants properly watered.
Fo comparison, my flower room is 1400w and intakes from an air conditioned room inside my house. The exhaust is a 6" duct run through the hood of my 1000w and exhausted to yet a third room. the 400 is not cooled. Bringing IN air that enters at about 65 degrees, using an active boosted intake, things stay nice and happy even though the duct booster fan i have is a peice of shit that can't pull much air at all.
Your humidity will rise into the 50-60% area as they grow bigger because the plants are perspring alot more, for now it is fine. Where exactly are you taking your temperature reading? HPS are relentless, I can see your intake in the picture so your exaust must be at the top of the room somewhere. Remember that you need to get a reading directly above the canopy of the plants. Raise the lights or ditch the 400w for now. At that stage its better they get an optimum environment.Quote:
