White Widow clone in Hydro - with pics
On May 6 I bought a White Widow clone from the local MMJ co-op. I put the plant in coco as soon as I got her home.
Most of the growth you see in the photos was on the plant when I got her, just a lot smaller than it is now. The plant just sat for about 11 days, the only change being the deterioration of the fan leaves.
Finally, on the 12th day, she started to grow. As pathetic as the plant looks in these photos, she's really come a long way in the last 2 days. All of the top growth from the big leaves on up is new. About 50% of the stem vegetation was already on the clone; but it was very small up until now. So, in the last two days, she has added about 50% of the stem growth, the width of the plant has trippled, and the top growth is new.
I think this girl might just take off and become a viable plant.

I've got some WW seeds I've been wanting to try. I'll be interested to see how this one turns out. :)

OQM - What part of Cal are you in? Maybe I can point you in the right direction.
Clones at the co-ops were $20 - $30. This one co-op near me has different clones every week. So far I've bought MasterxBubba, Green Crank and this White Widow. The MxB's are growing great, the Green Crank died, and this is the White Widow. One of the clones cost $30, the others were $20 - I don't remember which was which - although it's a pretty safe guess that it was the $30 one that died, cuz that's just the way life is. LOL
As Bonger so aptly points out, clone, clone, clone! That's what I intend to do. Right now I'm going for mommas. At the same time, I'm building new grow facilities in my garage. When these girls are ready to cut for clones, I'll have a nice new vegging cab ready. Ultimately, I'll have two mothers - an MxB and WW - in their own home (my current grow box) and a continuous crop of plants.
The co-op I frequent generally has one or two strains of clones when I make my weekly visit. I'm sure I'll be getting more strains/clones as time passes.

To Speed up your Mothering/Cloning/Flowing cycle, clone some of the lower branches during Veg just before flowering. This may set you back a week for recovery, but you will have your next batch of clones going, just as you go to flower. Keep one aside as a mother later on. You'll then have great full plants to flower on the next cycle as you trim back during the veg state of your clones.
Easiest way I've found to keep the cycle going in the beginning of a new breed.

I thought I read somewhere that lower branches were slower growing and weren't really the greatest for clones????
Regardless, I intend to clone every strain I get and keep mothers of the really good strains. A couple days ago I bought a 1/4 oz. of what is supposed to be bud from the same grower/plant. When I got it home and opened it my first thought was, "Damn! This crap's wet." But then I pulled it apart and it wasn't wet, it was gooey... and it smokes/burns great!!!
It's taken me about 15 minutes so far to type this post - so you might say it's pretty stoney.

lower branches are easier to clone.
I top my ww's and the tops are the slowest to root.

Yes, my widow's look the same as yours, all stretched out. I will top these, and the results will be the following pix.
Note: the guy in the white pot is a skunk.
