I quit my unfulfilling career in dentistry.
I didn't like it so I quit.
And now... I am going to do what makes me happy, not what promises to make me rich.
And I may need to eat ramen noodles for quite some time now...
BUT I AM SO EXCITED!

So how far into dentistry were you?
Good on you. I'd a did the same, only I decided a lot later than you. I'm now practically skint, but relatively more happy and physically much stronger. 9 to 5 sitting in a hermitically sealed box breathing recycled air and developing haemorhoids? No thanks, I'll take the financial hardship option if that's alright. :hippy:
Good for you hun!
So what are you dreaming of doing?
One of my best girlfriends is leaving the military as a VERY young lieutenant commander to go study to be a pastry chef. Takes balls...
Congratulations!
Can you inspect my teeth? I just ate a bowl of granola... :D
Actually, I recently came to a similar conclusion myself. I've been going towards psychology but I really don't want to be a therapist until I'm much, much older.
So I'm going off to do something that gets me a lot of $$$, so I can go enjoy life. Good to see you're breaking out of society's expectations also
I think hes making the opposite decision. However, you both want to enjoy life.Quote:

Congrats man. Hope everything works out the way you want it to.
it's all about what makes you happy i guess. Without a higher purpose, the only reason to exist it to enjoy existence really...
