While everyone is entitled to their opinion on any subject, fact will always rule over suspicion. Most people don't look beyond the mainstream media to gather their own facts about things that happen in our world, so local news and certain national channels are the only source of info that is heard. While I try my best to not think of everything as a cover-up or conspiracy, I do believe that there are things that go on that are not what they seem.
Since seeing a very enlightening, very scary documentary about 9/11, I have been much more interested in politics and what is going on in the US. I have gathered some facts that I feel are key in determining whether or not the US govt had anything to do w/ the attacks on the WTC.
If we can all add some things, I think more people will begin to realize how much our government did know.
Here's what I have so far:
- The WTC complex required roughly $200 million in renovations due to hazardous asbestos. Several organizations tried to have the complex demolished, but failed to get permission. If the buildings were to be demolished, it would have released the bacteria into the NYC air, causing countless health problems. The only way the buildings could have been taken down would have been to take them apart floor by floor, costing an estimated $15 BILLION.
- The buildings changed ownership for the first time in their 31 year history 6 months before the attacks. Larry Silverstein, a lawyer and real estate owner, leased the buildings for $3.2 billion with a down payment of only $124 million. He immediatly insured the buildings for $7 billion, making sure to add coverage for "terrorist attacks". Why would someone make such an investment knowing about the necessary renovation costs?
- Once the papers were signed for his lease, Larry Silverstein fired the current security company, and hired Securacom. This was responsible for security at the Dulles International Airport, where the attacking flights took off from. It is also a known fact that the company has been backed directly by the Bush family since the Gulf War.
- Since the attacks, Larry Silverstein has been collecting on $4.6 BILLION in insurance claims, which were filed as two separate items. Not a bad return for a $124 million down payment eh?
- The towers were home to several important documents as well. Items such as notes and information regarding further prosecution in the Enron and Worldcom cases were held there. Why would these documents matter though? Ken Lay, one of the convicted members in the Enron case, greatly helped with funding in Bush's campaigning. The two also owned a joint venture oil drilling company, Spectrum 7, back in the 80's. All of the documents were destroyed in the "attacks".
- 1 year after the attacks, in an interview with PBS, Silverstein made a statement regarding building 7, the smaller structure separate from the towers:
"I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, 'We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.' And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse."
I would be interested to see what other facts you all have regarding all of this. There is really no doubt in my mind that our government (particularly the President) had their hand in all of it.
